にんにんブッカーMobile Library

1905年、三重県で最初の公立図書館は、この崇広堂に生まれました。1984年に図書館は建物を出ましたが、遠くへは行っていません——同じまちの、同じ通りで本を貸し続け、2026年4月に新しい拠点へ移ったばかりです。フェアの二日間、伊賀市中央図書館（伊賀市教育委員会）の移動図書館車「にんにんブッカー」が、本を載せて会場にやって来ます——最初の図書館があった場所への、二時間の里帰りです。

In 1905, the first public library in Mie was founded here at Sukodo. In 1984 the library left the building — but never the neighborhood: it kept lending books on the same street, moving to its newest home only this April. For the two days of the fair, the Ninnin Bookmobile of Iga City Central Library (Iga City Board of Education) returns to the grounds where the first library once stood — a two-hour homecoming, with books on board.

ちなみに、図書館が長く暮らした旧上野図書館（上野丸之内40-5）では、英訳を添えた芭蕉の句碑「草いろいろ おのおの花の 手柄かな」が今も見られます。

Incidentally, at the former Ueno Library building (40-5 Ueno Marunouchi), where the library lived for many years, a stone monument still stands bearing Bashō’s haiku — 草いろいろ おのおの花の 手柄かな, “grasses of every kind, each with a flower of its own to be proud of” — set beside an English translation.

Waza Waza Archive展示企画

出展ブースのほかにも、手に取れる本があります。作った人は来られなくても、本は海を越えて届くことができる——バルト三国のひとつ、ラトビアの出版社 kuš! のコミックスをはじめ、国内外から本だけが旅をして、この展示に集まりました。

Beyond the exhibitor booths, there are books you can hold. Even when their makers cannot travel, the books themselves can — comics by kuš!, a publisher from Latvia in the Baltics, and other art books from Japan and abroad have journeyed here on their own.

kuš! との出会いは、伊賀市柘植の本屋・AprilBooks（実行委員メンバーの店）でした。kuš! に掲載された作家がふらりと店を訪れ、その本を気に入った私たちがラトビアへ連絡すると、たくさんの本が海を越えて届いた——そんな縁が、この展示になっています。

kuš! reached us through AprilBooks, a bookshop in Tsuge, Iga, run by a committee member: an artist featured in kuš! happened to visit the shop, we fell for the books and wrote to Latvia — and a great many books came back across the sea.

kuš! は2007年、ラトビアの首都リガで生まれた出版社です。手のひらに収まる「mini kuš!」とアンソロジー「š!」で知られ、2012年にはヨーロッパ最大のコミックの祭典・アングレーム国際漫画祭でオルタナティブ・コミック賞（Prix de la Bande Dessinée Alternative）を受賞。2019年には Broken Frontier Awards の Best Ongoing Series に選ばれ、アメリカのアイズナー賞・イグナッツ賞にも繰り返しノミネートされてきました。小さな国の、小さな判型の本が、世界のコミックスの真ん中で読まれています。

kuš! was founded in Riga, Latvia in 2007, and is known for its palm-sized mini kuš! series and the š! anthology. In 2012 it won the Prix de la Bande Dessinée Alternative at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, Europe’s largest comics event; in 2019 it took Best Ongoing Series at the Broken Frontier Awards, and it has been nominated repeatedly for the Eisner and Ignatz Awards in the United States. Small books, from a small country, read at the centre of the comics world.

本の世界には、不思議な強さがあります。会ったこともない作り手同士が、なぜか支え合う。消えていきそうなものの中で踏ん張っているからなのか、それとも、わざわざ本に関わることに本当の意味を感じているからなのか——その答えのかけらが、ここに並びます。ガラスケースには入れません。畳に座って、自由にひらいてください。

The world of books has a strange strength: makers who have never met somehow hold one another up. Is it because they persist against disappearing, or because engaging with books truly means something? Fragments of the answer are laid out here. Nothing sits behind glass — sit on the tatami and leaf through freely.

Coffeefika coffee stand

スペシャルティコーヒーの地元カフェ「fika coffee stand」が、屋外でテイクアウトの一杯を淹れます。

fika coffee stand があるのは、伊賀市柘植町。JR柘植駅から歩いて10分ほどの、常連のつくコーヒー店です。店主は伊賀焼を愛していて、伊賀焼の陶芸作家・須釜優子（@zuukaayaa）さんの作品などでコーヒーを飲むことができます。スイーツに使われているのは、同じ伊賀市で平飼い養鶏を営む「たまご屋いちは」（@tamagoya_ichiha）のたまご。毎年秋の陶器市でもコーヒーを淹れている、この土地に根ざしたカフェです。

fika coffee stand is in Tsuge, Iga — about ten minutes on foot from JR Tsuge Station — a specialty-coffee café with its own regulars. The owner loves Iga-yaki pottery, and coffee is served in vessels by makers including the Iga-yaki ceramic artist Yuko Sugama (須釜優子). The eggs in the sweets come from Tamagoya Ichiha, a free-range poultry farm in the same city. Each autumn the café also pours coffee at the local pottery market — rooted in this place.
