開催情報 / Details「読み茶（Reading Tea）」は、本と茶——ふたつの“ゆっくりとした受け渡し”と、ともに心を傾けるひととき——の出会いを探る、親密な茶会です。Waza Waza — Iga Art Book Fair の精神、そして文人——茶・詩・絵画・旅・読書を分け隔てなく行き来した東アジアの教養人たち——の系譜に着想を得て、協働的でつかのまの図書館のような交歓の場を、一時的に立ち上げます。参加者は、フェアで出会ったばかりの一冊を分かち合い、トマが持ち寄る本を手に取り、その素材・図像・物語・空気に応えて選ばれた茶を味わいます。
Reading Tea / 読み茶 is an intimate tea gathering exploring the encounter between books and tea as two forms of slow transmission and shared states of attention. Inspired by the spirit of Waza Waza — Iga Art Book Fair, and by the legacy of the bunjin — literati figures for whom tea, poetry, painting, travel, and reading were in dialogue with each other — the gathering creates a temporary space for exchange, like a collaborative and ephemeral library. Participants are invited to share their recent discoveries from the fair, browse through a selection of books brought by Thomas, and taste teas chosen specifically in response to the books, their materials, images, stories, and atmospheres.
Thomas Vauthier
トマ・ヴォーティエは、京都を拠点とするフランス出身のアーティスト・研究者（博士）・キュレーター。インスタレーション、パフォーマンス、茶、香り、ソーシャリー・エンゲージド・アートのあいだを行き来し、社会的な状況が立ち上がる一時的な場をしばしば生み出す。茶は、会話や日常の所作、その場の空気そのものを作品の一部とする「ともに心を傾け、出会う時間」を組み立てる方法として、彼の実践に入ってきた。現在は、現代美術のパフォーマンスを、とりわけ工夫茶（ゴンフーチャ）と煎茶道といった伝統的な茶の実践と対話させる研究・制作を進めている。
Thomas Vauthier is a French artist, researcher (PhD), and curator based in Kyoto. His work moves between installation, performance, tea, scent, and socially engaged art, often creating temporary spaces for social situations to unfold. Tea entered his practice as a way to compose moments of shared attention and encounter, where conversation, everyday gestures, and atmosphere become part of the work. His current research and practice bring contemporary art performance into dialogue with traditional tea practices, especially gongfu cha and sencha-dō.

有恒寮
Yukoryo, a building within the historic Sukodo
茶席は、史跡・旧崇広堂の建物のひとつ「有恒寮」で。崇広堂は文政4年（1821年）に津藩の藩校として建てられ、明治38年から約80年、三重県最古の公立図書館として使われた国指定史跡です。有恒寮は、かつて遠方の学生が暮らした寄宿寮でした。
Reading Tea takes place in Yukoryo, the former boarding dormitory and one of the buildings of the historic Sukodo — a domain school founded in 1821 that later served for some 80 years as Mie's oldest public library.
