We are a publishing house based in Osaka and Paris. 出展予定の本
Present Work
今夏に刊行が完了する写真集を中心としたいくつかのパブリケーションを出展予定です。 また、過去作や書店や通販サイトで流通させていないZINEを当日販売する予定です。
We plan to exhibit several publications centered on a photobook whose production will be completed this summer. We also plan to sell, on the day, past works and zines that have not been distributed through bookshops or online stores.
なぜ、わざわざ本を
Why a book
弊所は素材やDIY的なプロセスに特別な信条を持っているわけではありませんが、サイズや質量、質感等、物理的で微細な単位を身体を通して伝えることができるため本・印刷物という形態を採用することが多いです。現状、情報伝達の効率性や流通性の観点からも採用できるものが物理的なものしかないので、私たちはわざわざそれらを作り続けています。
We do not hold any particular creed about materials or DIY-like processes, but because physical, minute units such as size, mass, and texture can be conveyed through the body, we often adopt the form of the book or of printed matter. As things stand, a physical medium is the only one we can adopt—even from the standpoint of the efficiency and circulability of conveying information—and so we go out of our way to keep making them.
なぜ、わざわざ伊賀へ
Why Iga
弊所の共催者が伊賀地域出身であり、自分たちが育った地域文化の醸成に対して微力でも協力したいという思いがありました。 また、地元の方々が書店であまり見かけない弊所の出版物を手に取ることで、どのように反応されるのか興味があり応募しました。
One of our co-organizers is from the Iga region, and we felt a wish to help, however modestly, in nurturing the local culture in which we grew up. We also applied out of curiosity about how local people might react on picking up our publications, which are not often seen in bookstores.
