私は24歳で、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスを拠点にしています。デビュー写真集『Harmattan Sun』を皆さんにお見せできることを誇りに思います。この本は西アフリカとサハラで出会った、鮮やかで優しい邂逅を探求しています。旅における親密な瞬間を探る、これから出していきたい多くの本の最初の一冊です。
I'm 24 years old and based in Los Angeles, California. I'm proud to share my debut photography book with you, "Harmattan Sun". This book explores the vibrant and tender encounters found in West Africa and the Sahara. It is the first of many books I hope to publish that explore intimate moments in travel.

Why a book
私にとって本は、写真を提示するのに完璧なメディアです。本はアーティストが意図した物語を設定しつつ、見る人の解釈には開かれたままでいられます。特にデザインや製造の管理を自分で行うと、それは遅く、要求の多いプロセスです。けれどそれは美しく、報われ、情熱に満ちたプロセスで、作品をかけがえのない、手に触れられるアート作品として永遠のものにしてくれます。この本を作ったことで、本づくりへの大きな敬意が芽生え、より長期的でプロジェクトベースの仕事へと一層駆り立てられました。
Books are the perfect medium of presentation for photography to me. It can set a narrative intended by the artist, while remaining open to interpretation to the viewer. It's a slow and demanding process, especially with designing and managing production yourself. But it is a beautiful, rewarding, and passionate process that immortalizes the work into an invaluable, tangible art piece. Making this book instilled a great respect for bookmaking and has further driven me towards more long term, project based work.

私の近作は、思いがけない場所でコミュニティを見つけることを大切にしています。とりわけこの作品集は、人と人とのつながりはどこにでも見いだし、分かち合えるということを探求しています。この作品が、生まれた場所とは異なる空間で、その価値観への共感を分かち合うコミュニティの中で発表されることは、私にとって名誉です。また私は18歳のとき、初めての一人旅で京都・大阪・和歌山を訪れました。私にとって写真という芸術を志すきっかけとなった場所で作品を発表できることは、美しい一巡りの体験になると感じています。
My recent work values finding community in unlikely places. This monograph especially, explores that human connection can be found and shared everywhere. Having this project presented in a space foreign to its creation, among a community that shares appreciation for its values, would be an honor. I also visited Kyoto, Osaka, and Wakayama on my first trip alone when I was 18. I feel that it would be a beautiful full circle experience to present my work in a place that inspired photography as an art form to me!
