A bookstore is a place where—amid what might look like noise you won't find on the internet—you can experience, in print, the joy of hunting out a book that matches your own sensibility, and the browsable form that books take.

伊賀市柘植町柘植駅前の本屋兼まちライブラリーのAprilBooksです。新刊書、古本、まちライブラリーの機能が合わさって、さらにコーヒーが飲めるスペースを設けています。店内には約700冊の本が並びます。 アノニマスタジオとのコラボフェア、自然食通信社の企画展、交通新聞社、ニジノ絵本屋さんとの原画展、書肆侃侃房の海外文学フェア、子どもの文化普及協会さんと長新太さんの企画展などを開催しています。
AprilBooks is a bookshop and community library in front of Tsuge Station in Tsuge-cho, Iga City. It brings together new books, secondhand books, and the functions of a community library, and also provides a space where you can have a coffee. Around 700 books line its shelves. We have held events such as a collaborative fair with Anonima Studio, an exhibition with Shizenshoku Tsushinsha, original-artwork exhibitions with Kotsu Shimbunsha and the picture-book shop Nijino Ehonya, an overseas-literature fair with Shoshi Kankanbō, and an exhibition featuring the Association for the Promotion of Children's Culture and Shinta Cho.

なぜ、わざわざ本を
Why a book
新刊書店が減る中、独立型書店は増えている傾向にあります。インターネットにはない、雑音と思える中から、自分と感性の合う本を探すことができた喜びやブラウンジング機能のある形態の本と、紙媒体で出会うことができる場所であると思います。本好きや本づくりに興味を持ってもらったら、嬉しいです。そのような棚づくりを目指しており、わざわざ書店に来てもらえる付加価値のあるサービスも提供していきたいと思っています。
Even as new-book bookstores are dwindling, independent bookstores are on the rise. A bookstore is a place where—amid what might look like noise you won't find on the internet—you can experience, in print, the joy of hunting out a book that matches your own sensibility, and the browsable form that books take. I would be happy if people came to love books, or to take an interest in making them. That is the kind of shelf I aim to build, and I want to keep offering added-value services worth going out of your way to the shop for.

生まれ育ち、３６年生きている伊賀市のポテンシャルをもっと引き出し、本好きはもっとオープンに！ 伊賀には素晴らしい文化や資財、企業、サークルがあります。伊賀市の外に出ずとも世界に誇れる文化や資財をアピールする方法は、このブックフェアにあると思っています。まずは立ち止まり、わざわざ伊賀に来る価値を作るきっかけづくりをできたらなと思います。 よろしくお願い申し上げます。
I want to draw out more of the potential of Iga City—where I was born, raised, and have lived for thirty-six years—and to help book lovers be more open! Iga has wonderful culture, resources, businesses, and communities. I believe this book fair holds a way to show off, to the world, culture and assets we can be proud of, without ever having to leave Iga City. First of all, I hope we can make an occasion that gives people a reason to pause—and to feel it is worth going out of their way to come to Iga. Thank you very much.
